POLENET has secured internship positions for the summer 2008 but we are always looking for interested students for our summer 2009 season.
Do you..
...want to become involved in research investigating how the Earth system will respond to changing global climate?
...want to join an international research team investigating the polar ice sheets and their contribution to global sea level change?
...want to become part of the group of young scientists around the world participating in the International Polar Year?
Work as a summer intern with the
Polar Earth Observing Network (POLENET) science team!
What is POLENET?
The Polar Earth Observing Network (POLENET) is a science and technology project funded by a major grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Scientists and engineers work together in the Arctic and Antarctica to better understand the feedbacks between the solid earth and the polar ice sheets as global climate changes. POLENET Undergraduate Internship Opportunities:
Three types of internships are available to work on the POLENET project. Each runs from approximately mid-June to mid-August; pays a stipend and also pays for room & board and travel; and provides for participation in national science conferences. Successful applicants are eligible to participate for multiple summers in POLENET research. These programs are designed to increase educational access for students from diverse backgrounds. Students from racial and ethnic minority groups and low-income, first-generation students are especially encouraged to apply.
